With many clips from her films Blaue Licht, Triumph des Willens, Olympia and Tiefland, and many photos from her own archives. Filmed in her Munich studio and in the Alps. 60 mins."

Leni Riefenstahl: Ein Traum von Afrika (Leni Riefenstahl: A Dream of Africa)

This documentary by Ray Müller — who a decade earlier had produced Die Macht der Bilder (see above) — describes Leni's special relationship with the African people, the Nuba. In the 1960s and 1970s, Leni had visited and even lived with the Nuba tribe in the Sudan, and along with footage from those early excursions, Müller here accompanies 98-year-old Leni on her last major visit with them.

Description from the Facets site: "Henry von Javorsky, Jewish cameraman of the Third Reich, learned to survive by changing roles, working first in Nazi Germany, then for the Soviets in Berlin, and then for the Allies. Saved by his camera, Javorsky made films with Leni Riefenstahl and Luis Trenker, aerial shots for war movies like Pour le merite, Cologne in flames in 1944, and Soviet newsreel coverage of the trial of the Sachsenhausen concentration camp war criminals. He moved to America in 1952, where he made industrial films for Volkswagen and won an Academy Award for his short film about breaking the on-water speed record. English voice-over."
