Other Downloads:
Below is a selection of video clips of supplemental interest to the understanding of the life, career and film techniques of Leni Riefenstahl, available for free download (for personal use only).* With regard to copyright, the clips included on this page are either copyright-free and in the public domain, or permission has been sought for their presentation here, or else the source is unknown. In these latter instances, rest assured that Leni's Rising Star is a firm believer in respecting the intellectual property rights of others, and should there prove to be any inadvertent (and unintentional) infringement of any individual's or corporation's rights, the clips in question will respectfully be removed from this site. * "Personal use only" means for the purpose of off-line viewing on your own computer — not for inclusion on web pages or any other collection in any transferrable medium other than Leni's Rising Star. Please feel free to link to this page, however, Leni's Rising Star requests that you do not link to the individual files themselves. On This Page:
Rarities
Previously thought destroyed and long-lost (even by Leni herself), Rolf Raffé's 1928 film featured what was probably Leni's most dramatic role other than those in her own films, Das blaue Licht and Tiefland. In 2002, a badly damaged Italian-version of the film was discovered, and shown here is an extended clip from that which features Leni.
While virtually all of the Arnold Fanck films which feature Leni Riefenstahl are now readily available on VHS and/or DVD (see the Leni Riefenstahl on Video page for more info on sources), only Der große Sprung has yet to be released. Here are provided some short scenes from this film.
Interviews
The source of this clip — that is, what show this was originally aired on — is unknown, however this 1965 interview with Leni is particularly good, covering a variety of topics of interest including the war years, the years before and after, the film techniques Leni used in Triumph des Willens and Olympia, and a variety of other subjects. HELP! Downloading & Playing RealMedia FilesViewing RealMedia VideosTo view these clips, you need RealOne Player, available for download in a free "basic" version or a trial/buyable "pro" version.
